I have lived long enough to know and understand that no matter how much I try to make you proud I will never be good enough. You place an illusion over me as if you know everything about me, and yet you don’t and while you do that I’m forced to live in the shadow of what you expect me to be of whom I am to become.
Can’t you see I want to live my life my way, without having to look over my shoulder, or breaking a sweat for what you might think.
I have placed myself in that dark shadow for so long I have ceased to exist, I no longer feel human thanks to you.
Do you feel proud of me now?
